Directory
In
common with a number of other schools we are in the early days of
establishing a Business Directory. This will list businesses where
a Sternian is an owner/senior officer offering services and goods
that might be of interest to other Sternians. If you are interested
or wish to add your own business please click here.
Annual
Reunion 2008
As
predicted this turned out to be the best attended reunion ever despite
the disappointing weather. Officially over 250 ex-pupils, partners
and staff attended at least some part of the weekend though it is
felt the figure is really much higher as this does not include some
who just attended "The Proms in the Park" on the Saturday
evening buying tickets on the night. Yes that is Guy Dodd below
with 'his' girls.
Five
year groups ran Friday evening events and at Saturday lunch in the
Sutton House Marquee we said goodbye to Alan Dyson and Tony Woolstone
below.
So
what next to keep these numbers up ? We know next years Annual Reunion
will be on June 20th 2009 but we have as yet to decide what special
event will be laid on. We will be looking for someone(s) to take
on organising their year groups for the usual anniversaries namely
1949,1959, 1969,1979,1984 and 1999. We already have Ian Ellis(1974),
Roy Allaway & Jon Spooner(1989) and three other years making
plans, but don't feel you have to be in one of these anniversary
years to attend either on your own or in a year group with your
contemporaries. The year of 1978 below came back this year.

7's
Rugby & Netball Tournament
A
rugby sevens and netball tournament will be held at
the College on Sunday September 7th 2008 for past
pupils, staff and anyone with LWC connections. This
follows the very successful inaugural sevens &
netball tournament run last year. This year the staff
will be entering two sevens teams, one for the Under
35's and one for those over. If you wish to enter
a sevens team and are over 21 please contact Gill
Kelly on sternians@lordwandsworth.org or 01256-860356.
The Netball Tournament will be run on the same day.
Again if you are interested in taking part contact
Gill Kelly. Spectators are very welcome
Golf:Sternians
V LWC
This
Annual Golf tournament has now become a standard fixture
and will be run again at Oak Park Golf Club Crondall
on Sunday September 21st 2008. The Sternians are looking
for anyone slightly able to hit a ball and invite
ex-pupils and family members to take part. The Tournament
is run on a team basis but with individual prizes.

International
Rugby
When
the new England manager Martin Johnson announced his
first Elite England squad there were places for Pete
Richards (Summerfield 1996) and Jonny Wilkinson (Sutton
1997). Ugo Moyne (Sutton 2001) was given a place in
the Saxons Squad.
Alton
Convent
Knowing
that a few LWC pupils have connections to Alton Convent
you may wish to know that a reunion is being held
on October 11th recognising the 70 years since Sister
Madeleine started the school. If you are interested
